LAKELAND, Fla. — The Detroit Tigers are following a proven strategy: Keep your stars happy.
So they will continue to let Miguel Cabrera practice at first base during these early days of spring training.
How long that lasts remains to be seen.
“Right now, he’s just playing with the boys,” Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire said Wednesday morning after practice. “If you shut him down with some of those things, he won’t be very happy.
