Surgery isn’t currently being considered, but Detroit Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire said third baseman Jeimer Candelario will have an MRI of his sore left wrist on Sunday.
The Tigers want to compare a new MRI with one Candelario had when he played for the Chicago Cubs.
The wrist occasionally flares up on Candelario, as it did Saturday. Candelario isn’t in the starting lineup for Sunday’s game against the Seattle Mariners, but is available to pinch hit. Pete Kozma is starting at third for the Tigers.
“Most of it is batting right-handed,” Gardenhire said of when Candelario’s wrist flares up.
