Detroit Tigers' injured starting pitchers set back, rotation still in flux

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Ron Gardenhire pulled out a binder.

It was Tuesday afternoon and time for another edition of injury updates, or, as Gardenhire also referred to them as, “Down-dates.”

Most notable among them were the injury rehabilitations for right-handers Jordan Zimmermann and Tyson Ross. Neither were particularly positive, with Zimmermann’s second minor-league injury rehab assignment pushed back, and Ross’ throwing program put on hold.
