FORT MYERS, Fla. — In the seventh inning of Tuesday’s 5-1 loss to the Minnesota Twins, Detroit Tigers infielder Isaac Paredes came to the plate for his first at-bat of the spring.
A sore right arm, and mostly the team’s caution had kept the Tigers’ fifth-ranked prospect — according to MLB Pipeline — from playing in a game so far.
“Excited,” Paredes, 21, said of his first at-bat through an interpreter, “pretty excited of being back on a major-league field.”
