Detroit Tigers honor Aretha Franklin with song titles in game notes

MINNEAPOLIS — The Detroit Tigers made a nice tribute to Aretha Franklin in Thursday’s game notes against the Twins.

The public relations team — headed by director of media relations Chad Crunk — titled their notes with some of Franklin’s greatest hits. The titles followed a theme, such as, “It Hurts Like Hell” when listing their players on the disabled list.

Other notable titles: “Dr. Feelgood,” about manager Ron Gardenhire’s career accomplishments; “Rock Steady,” about Nicholas Castellanos’ consistency at the plate; “Respect,” about Victor Martinez’s current hitting; “Until You Come Back To Me,” about Daniel Norris’ minor-league rehabilitation start; and “You Send Me,” about Artie Lewicki being placed on the DL.
