The Detroit Tigers have found their manager for Triple-A Toledo.
Doug Mientkiewicz, who played three seasons for Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire with the Twins, has agreed on a deal to manage the Mud Hens in 2018, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.
Mientkiewicz, 43, played in Minnestota in 2002-04. He has five seasons of minor league managerial experience with Class A Fort Myers in 2013-14 and 2017 and Double-A Chattanooga in 2015-16.
Mientkiewicz could be officially announced as Toledo manager as soon as Tuesday afternoon.
