Though Rod Allen and Mario Impemba’s departure from the Tigers broadcast booth may sound trivial to some, it is particularly sad for those of us who came of age as Tiger fans during the last two decades.
Through the misery of 2003 when the Tigers suffered one of the worst seasons in Major League history to the out-of-nowhere excitement of the 2006 World Series run; from Verlander’s no-hitters to Cabrera’s triple crown; Mario and Rod have been there to comfort us in our heartbreak and cheer with us in our triumphs.
