The Detroit Tigers and Chicago White Sox finally started the last series of the season today after inclement weather yesterday, and the Sox won by a large margin. The Tigers struck first with a run in the first, but it was all Chicago after that and they would go on to win seven to one.
Matthew Boyd made his final start of the season today, and despite the loss, it wasn’t as bad as the score might indicate. Boyd went for four innings and gave up four runs, but only two of them were earned. A costly error by Harold Castro cost Boyd two runs as well as running up his pitch count.
