The Tigers announced a multi-year contract extension for general manager Al Avila on Friday, and Tigers fans were, um, not happy?
OK. OK. We get it.
The Tigers haven't made the playoffs since Avila, 60, was promoted to GM in mid-2015, and 2016 was the only year his club posted a winning record. Since then? The Tigers went 64-98 in back-to-back seasons, before doubling down on losing this year (the Tigers have a remote chance to match the American League-record 119 losses they suffered in 2003).
Oof! Talk about an 'L' of tenure.
