The injuries just keep piling up for the Detroit Tigers.
Now, the team's entire Opening Day infield is hurt.
The Tigers announced on Tuesday that is has placed third baseman Jeimer Candelario on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to June 2, with left shoulder inflammation.
Candelario, 25, has struggled in his second full season in the majors. He is hitting just .179 in 156 at-bats, with two home runs and nine RBIs and a .546 on-base-plus-slugging percentage. He was sent down to Triple-A Toledo to work on his swing and confidence on May 16.
