He pitched here for just one season, 2009, a year that will go down as merely one piece of the historic, 14-piece puzzle of Edwin Jackson’s career.
Jackson, the veteran right-hander, is a record-holder: He has made an appearance for 14 teams, most in baseball history, and on Friday night, he was back at Comerica Park, pitching for the Detroit Tigers.
“Detroit always feels like home to me,” Jackson said. “Regardless of what side I’m on, every time I come to the city it feels welcoming, and I take that feeling to the mound with me.”
It was not hard to tell.
