OMAHA — A day later, in a different state, Matthew Boyd had his Oregon State trainers on. Niko Goodrum was back in the Detroit Tigers’ lineup. And JaCoby Jones was still hitting leadoff.
It was a rare game day/travel day for the Tigers, who made the short flight from Kansas City to Omaha on Thursday morning, landing around 12:30 p.m. local time and arriving at TD Ameritrade Park about an hour later for the first Major League game ever to be played in Nebraska.
