Detroit Tigers left-handed pitcher Daniel Norris, in his first start since returning from groin surgery, left Saturday's game at the New York Yankees early with an injury.
The team said later during the game Norris suffered from a left calf cramp.
Norris pitched well, carrying a perfect game through four innings. He gave up a leadoff walk to Miguel Andujar and a one-out, two-run homer to Gleybor Torres in the fifth.
A few pitches later, the Tigers' head trainer, Doug Teter, raced out to the mound to check on Norris. He was quickly followed by manager Ron Gardenhire, who, after a few questions to Norris, removed him from the game.
