Detroit Tigers, Daniel Norris can't hold off Twins: three takeaways

It was the same story for Daniel Norris on Tuesday night at Comerica Park.

Norris, effective twice through the opponent’s batting order, could not pitch his way through the third. The Twins scored two runs on three hits and a walk in the top of the sixth inning, then tacked on three more against Sandy Baez for a 5-3 win over the Detroit Tigers.

Norris’ erratic inning marred an otherwise strong night. He located his fastball throughout and induced swings-and-misses on his slider. He fell one out shy of his first quality start since last June 16.
