The Detroit Tigers claimed left-handed reliever Bennett Sousa off waivers from the Brewers on Tuesday, filling the lone open spot on the 40-man roster.
The 28-year-old has been optioned to Triple-A Toledo.
Sousa has a 9.00 ERA in his 27-game MLB career with the Chicago White Sox in 2022 and Brewers in 2023, allowing 23 runs on 30 hits and 12 walks with 14 strikeouts across 23 innings.

Sousa was designated for assignment by the White Sox and picked up off waivers by the Cincinnati Reds in February 2023, only to be traded to the Brewers for cash considerations in April 2023.
