The Detroit Tigers today purchased the contract of right-handed pitcher Warwick Saupold from Triple-A Toledo and optioned left-hander Daniel Norris to the Mud Hens.
In eight appearances, including four starts, with the Mud Hens, Saupold has a 3-1 record with a 2.37 ERA and 14 strikeouts in 30 1/3 innings.
Norris had just been called up this week, after missing a couple of months with a back injury.
Saupold, 26, is from Australia. The 6-foot-1, 195-pounder has been in the Tigers' system since 2012, going through West Michigan, Lakeland, Erie and Toledo.
