Detroit Tigers: Cabrera’s contract is just a small part of the problem

The economic uncertainty of MLB due to the COVID-19 pandemic plus Miguel Cabrera’s bloated “legacy contract” are the two main culprits why the Detroit Tigers refuse to spend big money in free agency this year.

So far it has been extremely quiet for the Detroit Tigers in free agency and unfortunately, this is something Tigers’ fans have grown far too accustomed to under the ownership of Chris Ilitch.
