LAKELAND, Fla. -- The hits keep on coming for the now-depleted Detroit Tigers pitching staff.
On Thursday, left-hander Daniel Norris was ruled out for Opening Day with non-displaced fractures in his spinal process. Norris’ injury likely will pull righty Shane Greene from the bullpen into the starting rotation.
Today came two more ominous updates from manager Brad Ausmus: Righty reliever Alex Wilson will not be ready for the start of the regular season, and lefty Blaine Hardy is dealing with an impingement in his pitching shoulder.
“There could be some temporary spots open,” Ausmus said.
