Detroit Tigers bring back Chad Bell, send Arcenio Leon to Triple-A

Detroit Tigers pitcher Chad Bell is back with the team.

The left-handed reliever, who has significant experience as a starter in the minors, was recalled from the minors on Sunday.

Bell previously appeared in five games for the Tigers earlier this season, logging 10 innings pitched.

The southpaw struck out seven while allowing six hits, five walks, three runs and a home run.

He gives manager Brad Ausmus another bullpen option after the unit was taxed on Saturday night.

Daniel Stumpf, Warwick Saupold, Francisco Rodriguez and Arcenio Leon all threw in the 11-3 loss to the Boston Red Sox, totaling three innings.
