Detroit Tigers' Brad Ausmus sticking with his struggling relievers

CHICAGO -- Detroit Tigers manager Brad Ausmus on Wednesday said he will continue to use the usual pitchers at the back end of games, even though a couple of them have struggled badly the last few weeks.

Shane Greene and Justin Wilson, for example, combined to allow four runs on five hits in Wednesday’s 7-4 loss to the Chicago White Sox.

“That’s the thing about the back of the bullpen,” Ausmus said, “when they have an off day, you generally lose. So it’s going to happen.”

Greene has a 13.50 ERA since Aug. 17, allowing 14 earned runs on 17 hits over 9 1/3 innings.
