What happened

The Tigers scored their first three runs on solo homers.

C.J. Cron and Jeimer Candelario both hit solo homers in the second inning off left-hander Derek Holland to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead.

It was the third homer for Cron and the second for Candelario. Cron went 2-for-3.

Cameron Maybin led off the sixth inning with a home run to left, his first of the spring. It came on a 2-1 pitch against Derek Holland and gave the Tigers a 3-1 lead.
