Detroit Tigers' Alex Wilson still shut down: 'A little concerning'

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- Alex Wilson won’t begin baseball activities until the soreness in his right shoulder is gone. He was shut down after reporting shoulder soreness Feb. 28.

Tigers manager Brad Ausmus acknowledged that there’s some concern about Wilson.

“It’s a little concerning, although it’s in a different area (than where) the shoulder bothered him at the end of last year,” Ausmus said. “So in that regard, it’s a little concerning. But like I said, it’s not the same area of the shoulder."

Wilson previously stated that the soreness was in the back of his shoulder, not the biceps tendon, which tired down the stretch last season.
