As the baseball world departed the Manchester Grand Hyatt during Thursday morning’s Rule 5 draft, the Tigers closed in on a deal with catcher Austin Romine.
The deal, first reported by George King of the New York Post, is for one year and $4 million, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.
