Detroit Tigers second baseman Jonathan Schoop exited Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Angels in the bottom of the second inning with a right ankle injury.
The severity of his injury is unclear.
Schoop, 30, hurt his ankle while running the bases after cranking an RBI double to drive in the Tigers' first run. On Tucker Barnhart's ensuing single to right fielder Taylor Ward, third base coach Ramon Santiago tried to score Schoop from second base.
Schoop wasn't close to being safe.
Angels catcher Max Stassi received the ball, and since Schoop was so far away from scoring, he tried to dodge the tag and lunge for the plate.
