CHICAGO – At long last, it ended.
At 5:56 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time this afternoon at U.S. Cellular Field, on a 1-1 pitch from Kyle Ryan, the Tigers’ 2015 season was finally in the rearview mirror.
On the final day of the regular season, in the 161st game, they beat the White Sox, 6-0.
But before the team’s failure of a season ended on an overcast day in the Windy City, left-hander Daniel Norris gave them another glimpse into his bright future.
Norris, the centerpiece of the team’s trade deadline deals – acquired with two prospects from the Blue Jays for left-handed ace David Price – threw five spectacular innings, allowing one hit.
