All Joe Maddon has done is take the Chicago Cubs to the playoffs in each of his four seasons as manager, and snap a century-old World Series drought.
That's not good enough for some, though.
Maddon has been heavily criticized at times during the Cubs' 95-win regular season, which only amplified following Tuesday night's loss in the wild-card game at home.
Still, multiple reports today have the 64-year-old returning for the final year of his contract. Maddon is set to make $6 million, the highest salary of any manager in baseball.
Maddon has not sought a contract extension, and the Cubs don't appear to be offering one.
