Daniel Norris called up to bolster weary Tigers bullpen

Washington — The Tigers bullpen had pitched 16u2153 innings in the last four games entering play Wednesday.
Thus, a fresh arm has been recalled from Triple A Toledo.

Left-hander Daniel Norris, a starting pitcher by trade, is expected to join the club before the game against the Nationals and work out of the bullpen.

Outfielder Tyler Collins was returned to Toledo.

It’s been a rocky start to the season for Norris. He was the front-runner to be the Tigers’ No. 5 starter this season, but struggled this spring and then suffered a freak back injury while doing a box-jump workout, which put him on the disabled list for 15 days.
