Steve Bartman, once arguably the most hated man on the north side of Chicago, is getting a World Series ring.
The Chicago Cubs announced today that they're awarding a ring from the 2016 championship season to the fan who infamously tipped a foul ball during the 2003 NLCS.
Cubs outfielder Moises Alou reached into the stands for a foul ball off the bat of Luis Castillo during Game 6, with Chicago ahead 3-0 and up 3-2 in the series against the Florida Marlins. Alou didn't catch it, in part because Bartman tipped it, and was enraged and gestured toward the stands.
