Close but no cigar again: Tigers swept by Astros

Detroit – The Astros did what playoff contenders do in the final month of the season – they methodically took care of business in a series against a game, but ultimately lesser opponent.

The Astros scored four times in the fifth inning Wednesday and walked out of Comerica Park with a 5-4 win and a sweep of three one-run games against the Tigers.

It was the first time the Astros ever swept the Tigers in Detroit. They have now won 10 of their last 11 games and 17 of their last 21.

Tigers starter Daniel Norris took a 2-1 lead into the fifth and appeared to be in cruise mode.
