CLEVELAND -- Justin Verlander’s first inning struggles continued.
Verlander allowed three runs in the first inning on Tuesday night. He allowed seven earned runs in a game for the second time this season.
The Detroit Tigers went on to lose, 7-3, to the Indians at Progressive Field.
The loss snapped a five-game win streak for the Tigers.
The Tigers fell to 0-4 against the Indians this season.
“I think we play them 17, 18 times, so I’m not going to get caught up in four,” said Tigers manager Brad Ausmus.
The Tigers had a rough start Tuesday, having a run taken off the board after the Indians won a replay challenge.
