CLEVELAND -- Justin Verlander surrendered seven runs in a game for the second time this season.
The Detroit Tigers had a rough start to Tuesday’s game, having a run taken off the board after the Indians won a replay challenge.
Verlander had an even tougher beginning, allowing three runs in the bottom of the first. By the time Verlander got out of the inning, he’d thrown 38 pitches.
He yielded another run in the third and three more in the fifth.
The Tigers went on to lose, 7-3, on Tuesday night at Progressive Field, snapping their five-game win streak.
