Chris Tillman baffles Tigers as struggling Orioles cruise to 6-0 win

BALTIMORE -- If Chris Tillman ultimately turns things around in 2018, he'll owe the Detroit Tigers a thank-you note.

The Baltimore Orioles right-hander, who entered the game with a 9.87 ERA and had allowed 30 hits in 17 innings, was brilliant on Friday night.

Tillman pitched seven shutout innings, allowing just one hit, as the Orioles beat the Tigers 6-0 at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

Tigers starter Mike Fiers pitched well through six innings, striking out five and issuing just one intentional walk. But two of the four hits he allowed were home runs, including a mammoth shot by Pedro Alvarez.
