DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers will make a subtle uniform change in 2018, tweaking the Old English D on their home jersey to match the caps.
The Tigers are also enlarging the size of the D on the caps to make it more comparable to other Major League clubs.
The Tigers said their research showed fans preferred the style on the caps to the slightly different version on jerseys.
"Tigers fans are three times more likely to say the cap 'D' best represents the Tigers, and 3.5 times more likely to say it best represents the city of Detroit," the Tigers said in a release.
