ANAHEIM -- The Tigers' offense showed signs of the breakout it badly needs, but again missed out on the big hit. Andrelton Simmons hit a two-run homer off Matthew Boyd, and Eric Young Jr. added a solo shot, sending Detroit to its fourth straight loss Monday night with a 6-2 defeat to the Angels.
After the A's held Detroit to a lone run, unearned, over 31 innings in a weekend sweep, Nicholas Castellanos' first-inning solo homer seemed to give the Tigers early life on a hot evening at Angel Stadium.
