Casey Mize’s rehab start goes well but the Mud Hens lose anyway

Casey Mize’s rehab outing went off without a hitch, but Austin Bergner struggled and the Hens offense was pretty quiet to go down two games to one in the series.

Mize was up to 98.2 mph with his fourseamer, and spun 2 13 scoreless innings. He threw just 35 pitches, so he’ll need at least one more outing to stretch out. He did throw all four pitches and got several whiffs on the splitter while mixing in the knuckle curve a fair amount as well.

Unfortunately, Berger took over and gave up a pair of runs in the third, and two more in the sixth.
