LAKELAND, Fla. — Detroit Tigers top prospect Casey Mize rebounded from an ugly outing with a beautiful piece of work in Friday’s 5-4 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays at Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium.
Mize, who was roughed up Sunday against the Pittsburgh Pirates, entered in the eighth inning against Toronto and mixed his pitches well, notching two strikeouts.
He got Patrick Kivlehan to pop out to first base. Then he got Riley Adams to strike out swinging. Mize capped off the inning when he got Griffin Conine on a full-count swinging strikeout.
