Can Tigers' Andrew Romine play all 9 positions in a game? He may try this week

DETROIT -- Andrew Romine has played eight positions in his Major League career.

At some point in the next week, the Detroit Tigers' super-utility player will try to play all nine -- and accomplish the feat in a single game.

"He's got the ability to play all nine positions," said Tigers manager Brad Ausmus. "In games that don't particularly matter, it might make the game a little more interesting."

Romine's reaction upon hearing his manager's plan?

"Cool," he said.

The Tigers play their next seven games against the Chicago White Sox and Oakland Athletics, two teams that are out of the playoff hunt.
