Bullpen comes up big (!) for Detroit Tigers in snapping 8-game skid

SAN DIEGO – The Detroit Tigers ended an eight-game losing skid on Sunday partially because the bullpen finally stopped the bleeding.

The bullpen had allowed four runs or more in four of the first six games on the Tigers' West Coast road trip. But Warwick Saupold, Alex Wilson, Daniel Stumpf, Bruce Rondon and Justin Wilson each pitched a scoreless inning of relief in Sunday’s 7-5 win against the San Diego Padres.

Saupold allowed the only hit of the five relievers. Alex Wilson allowed one walk and had one strikeout.
