DETROIT - The Detroit Tigers needed to make a roster move before the start of a seven-game western road trip that begins Monday and Buck Farmer didn't give them much choice.
Farmer was shelled for the second straight game Sunday and that cost him a spot in the big leagues as the Tigers optioned him to Triple A Toledo after a 9-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays.
