Brandon Dixon entered the Detroit Tigers lineup in the eighth inning as a pinch hitter Sunday afternoon, striking out in a tie game against the Kansas City Royals.
No worries. He got his redemption in the 10th inning, on defense and offense, helping the Tigers beat the Royals, 5-2, in an exciting finish at Comerica Park.
After making a diving grab down the left field line in the top of the 10th, robbing Kansas City’s Alex Gordon of an extra-base hit, Dixon ended it in the bottom of the frame with a three-run, walk-off homer against Royals pitcher Ian Kennedy.
