SAN DIEGO -- Detroit Tigers manager Brad Ausmus is home this weekend, enjoying a few precious hours with his family when he's not at the ballpark.
His house overlooking the Pacific Ocean is only about 25 minutes north of Petco Park and offers a gorgeous view and proximity to surfing, one of Ausmus' favorite hobbies.
But he's not ready to spend the rest of the summer here.
"I'm not folding up shop. That's not how I operate," he said. "That's why I guess I don't really worry about it. You keep grinding and fighting until someone tells you, 'Hey, we don't want you to grind and fight anymore.
