CHICAGO -- Mike Fiers didn't get a win for his 33rd birthday, but the Tigers picked up their third consecutive victory with another late rally. John Hicks singled and scored on an infield grounder in the eighth inning to lift Detroit to a 4-3 win over the White Sox on Friday night at Guaranteed Rate Field.
The win moved Detroit to within 3 1/2 games of Cleveland in the American League Central. The Tigers have won three in a row since losing Miguel Cabrera for the season with a ruptured left biceps tendon.
