Detroit — A fired-up crowd of 32,845 — the largest since July 24, 2019 — poured into Comerica Park on a gorgeous Saturday night. They came to celebrate Fiesta Tigre and the accomplishments of Latino players throughout history.
And, of course, they came to witness the most famous Tigers Latino player make his own history.
The latter didn’t happen. Miguel Cabrera singled (hit No. 2,951), flew out to center, got hit on the arm with a pitch — much to the angry displeasure of the paying customers — and, after hitting a drive just outside the right-field foul pole, walked.
