Beau Burrows was scheduled to start on Thursday, but unfortunately he ended up on the 7-day IL with shoulder inflammation instead. Hens manager Doug Mientkiewicz downplayed the move, calling it precautionary, but we’ll see how Burrows responds to some rest. MRI’s revealed no structural damage, so hopefully it’s just a minor flare-up for Burrows, who has been extremely durable in his young pro career to date.
Left-hander Tyler Alexander was up to the task of taking Burrows’s spot though. Alexander punched nine Clippers tickets in this one, allowing just one run on five hits and a walk across five innings of work.
