Anthony Gose's career as an Astros' reliever may have lasted 3 batters

LAKELAND, Fla. -- Anthony Gose's first appearance in a Houston Astros uniform might be his last.

The former Detroit Tiger walked all three batters he faced in his Grapefruit League debut on Saturday. On Monday, he was placed on waivers, according to Jake Kaplan of the The Athletic.

Gose's career has taken many twists and turns since he served as the Tigers' everyday center fielder in 2015.

He began his conversion to pitcher after failing to make the Tigers' Opening Day roster last spring. The early reports were promising. He was left-handed and could throw close to 100 mph.
