Another no-hit bid for Francisco Liriano ends in another Detroit Tigers loss

SEATTLE — The Detroit Tigers have twice lost games this season in which left-handed pitcher Francisco Liriano flirted with a no-hitter.

With one out in the seventh on Sunday at Safeco Field, Mitch Haniger lined a single to left-center to break up Liriano's latest no-hit bid.

With one out in the ninth, Haniger hit a game-tying, two-run home run to left after closer Shane Greene hung an 0-2 slider.

The Tigers went on to lose, 3-2, in 11 innings to the Seattle Mariners. Buck Farmer's struggles continued. He gave up a leadoff single to Dee Gordon, who then stole second and scored on a single through the hole at second by Jean Segura that gave the Mariners the walk-off win.
