ANAHEIM, Calif. – Perhaps the first point of Anibal Sanchez regaining his confidence came this afternoon at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, sitting in front of his locker, talking to reporters, having just been removed from the Detroit Tigers’ starting rotation.
“I’m going to take my job back,” he said. “I’m going to work. I’m not a quitter. I’m a strong man and I’m going to work to be back.”
It was the first time in a long time Sanchez seemed to speak with vindication.
“Now I need to work for something, and I’m ready for it,” he said.
