In his second start for the Detroit Tigers, lefty Randy Wolf devoured the Angels through seven innings. He allowed just one run but with only an eighth-inning triple for offense, became the latest to fall victim to the curse of no run support. The Tigers took a 2-0 loss to the Angels, and a series loss at home.
Wolf had allowed just three hits over 5 2/3 innings pitched and had a low pitch count. A night after Verlander put up a stellar start against the Angels, Wolf was on track to do the same.
