DETROIT -- A few months ago, Major League Baseball and its players reportedly kicked around the idea of expanding rosters from 25 to 26 players.
But when the new collective bargaining agreement was finally unveiled in November, the roster size was unchanged.
That was bad news for the Detroit Tigers and the handful of players vying for a spot on the team's bench. Four players -- Tyler Collins, Steven Moya, Anthony Gose and Dixon Machado -- are out of options and must make the squad or be exposed to waivers.
