The hard-throwing West Michigan reliever will serve as one of five Single-A representatives in the USA vs. World Team annual event.
COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. -- You don't have to sit through many outings from Whitecaps big right-handed relief pitcher Joe Jimenez to see what the Tigers organization has something special on their hands.
The performance of Jimenez this season has secured the right amount of attention and admiration to secure a slot as a member of the pitching staff for the 2015 MLB Futures Game, set for July 12 at American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio.
As a part of the 17th annual event, Jimenez will serve as one of 10 members of the World Team pitching staff, as well as being the lone Detroit organization representative and one of only five prospects representing from the Single-A level.
